"What I feel for you? It's not healthy. It's an obsession."
From the author of the #1 bestseller Pretend You're Mine, Lucy Score once again delivers an unforgettable, suspenseful love story with the first novel in the Sinner & Saint duet.
Rule-bound Xavier Saint has seen it all from the battlefield to the behind-the-scenes business of protecting Hollywood's elite. His private security firm is the best in the country, but he's sick of protecting vapid starlets from themselves. Which is exactly what he thinks he's getting into with Waverly Sinner, a second generation screen goddess. But she's not just another celebrity on self-destruct.
Waverly Sinner has everything she never wanted. Parts she doesn't want to play, dangerously manipulative parents, and a public life devoid of any kind of privacy. She hides the panic attacks and the pain behind a movie-star smile and plots her escape from the life she never chose. Until the sinfully sexy Xavier shows up to slam the door shut on her own private prison.
While sparks fly and their battle of wills heats up, a new threat materializes. Someone has been watching her, worshipping her, for years and he's about to make his very public, very deadly move. Can Xavier stand between her and danger, or will his feelings for Waverly dull his instincts and endanger them both?
Author's Note This is the first novel in a two-book series. The stories take place five years apart so my astute readers can guess that this one doesn't have the happily ever after we all love. But I promise, I more than make up for it with the conclusion of Xavier and Waverly's story in Breaking the Rules.

I discovered Lucy Score by chance last year and have been a fan ever since. I love her style of writing and have loved and devoured all of her books. That being said Crossing the Line still managed to exceed all of my expectations.I will start by saying: Holy cliffhanger, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Crossing the Line tells the story of Waverly Sinner, a reluctant movie star, and Xavier Saint, the oh-so-hot bodyguard hired to protect her. Waverly is no ordinary actress, she is Hollywood royalty, born to megastar parents. She never asked for fame and fortune and longs for an ordinary life, yet feels pressured to fulfill her parents expectations. Waverly decides to take command of her life and plans to escape Hollywood and fulfill her own dream of attending university. She is unpleasantly surprised when she learns her parents have hired a personal bodyguard, Xavier Saint, to protect her from a creepy stalker that is becoming more threating by the minute.
Waverly's plan of escape does not include a personal babysitter, hot as he may be, and is determined to lose him by playing up the spoiled rich girl act. Xavier Saint, however, is no ordinary bodyguard and is not easily scared off. He has dealt with his fair share of entitled rich clients in need of saving and is determined to protect Waverly at all costs. Determined as they both are to gain the upper hand, neither anticipated the undeniable and explosive attraction between them.
As Waverly's stalker becomes bolder and more threatening, Xavier refuses to allow his growing attraction to get in the way of his professionalism and his commitment to keep Waverly safe. Meanwhile Waverly is fighting her own feelings because due to her personal insecurities stemming from her parents' highly dysfunctional relationship. However, they are fighting a losing battle and soon find themselves giving in to a passionate affair.
Though they are both obviously in love with one another they are too stubborn to admit it and neither allows themselves to envision a future in which they can be together. With emotions running high and the tension building as the stalker draws closer, it all come to a head when a devastating argument leads to both making terrible choices that result in Waverly being placed in incredible danger. Will Xavier be able to save her and confess his love for her before it's too late? You'll have to read to find out.
Crossing the Line ends in a bit of cliffhanger; not the actual story being told within this novel (that ends) but as far as Waverly and Xavier are concerned, their story is far from finished. I have full confidence that Lucy Score will mend my broken heart and give me a hell of a read in the process, I simply cannot wait for Breaking the Rules, book two in the Sinner and Saint series.

Crossing the Line A Sinner and Saint Novel Volume 1 Lucy Score 9781945631030 Books Reviews
Lucy Score is by far my favorite author, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on her next books. This book doesn't disappoint. The characters are so well crafted and the suspense is thrilling. I read the first book in 3 days and couldn't wait to dive into the second one. I can't wait to see what happens with Xavior and Waverly!!!
I have read many books by Lucy Score and have loved them all. This book was also good and I can't wait for the continuation of the story.
Xavier Saint was hired as a body guard for Waverly Sinner. She sees him as a high priced baby sitter while he sees her as a spoiled Hollywood brat. Of course, they get to know each other much better and I liked the relationship development in the story. He tries to protect her from herself while she tries to thwart his efforts in the beginning. Eventually, they come to an understanding and respect each other more. While a stalker threatens Waverly's life, Xavier does his best to protect her.
I gave it 4 stars. The only problem that I had with the story was how young the heroine is. I suppose that because of her life experience as a child actress, she does have more maturity than your typical 20 year old, but it just seemed too much to me.
I absolutely loved it. Now, don't get me wrong. I hate cliffhangers. However, I was fortunate enough to read this book when the 2nd book is available, so it isn't as much of a hardship for me as it was for some readers.
Xavier is an idiot. In the end, a complete idiot. But I understand his nice guy issues.
Waverly is also an idiot. For not looking at the video and trying again. I will, however, completely forget that part because girls gotta stick up for each other and throw a blind eye sometimes.
So for the sake of #feminism, I'll say that Xavier is the only idiot.
I absolutely canNOT wait to continue reading, so I'm cutting this short to hurry to the 2nd part.
Fantastic book!!!
I have read this book twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it. Most of the time I don’t like romances that stretch across multiple books because I prefer to focus on the romance and not have lots of extra drama. However, dividing Xavier and Waverly’s story into two parts makes perfect sense. You get over 400 very full pages, their romance develops naturally through the plot, and it comes to a logical breaking point. There is no fluff in here. It’s a great book, with tons of interesting characters and a very compelling story. Xavier and Waverly are an awesome couple. I loved Part 2, Breaking the Rules, just as much.
This is a very different Lucy Score book, especially if you are used to her small town series like Blue Moon. Give this a try, whether or not you have liked Lucy Score in the past. I don’t care for the Blue Moon stories, but I love this duology, Undercover Love, and especially Worst Best Man. They have more of an edge and intensity that I really like.
“Sinner and Saint” With names like that you know there’s going to be sparks.
Waverly Sinner has been in the limelight since she was young. Born to famous parents, Hollywood royalty, plus she’s a star in her own right, but the one thing she truly has never really felt was loved.
Xavier Saint runs a Security firm for the Elite and when his firm is hired to protect Waverly he’s expecting a diva, but what he finds is the total opposite, she wants out of the limelight and just wants to live like a twenty year old girl, but when she starts getting stalked by a mad man all bets are off.
When Waverly and Xavier are together it’s intense and doing his job to protect her becomes more difficult. In the end Waverly gets hurt and almost dies, Xavier blames himself and chooses to walk away from her even though his heart belongs to her and vice versa.
I was like oh no how could you end this book this way, well never fear there’s a second book, five years into the future and I for one can’t wait to see if Waverly and Xavier find their way back to each other.
